The CRSP examination (CRSPEX) is a computer-based exam administered by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP). It contains 190–210 multiple-choice questions including scored and unscored items, with a 4-hour time limit. The pass mark is determined using the Modified Angoff Method — a criterion-referenced standard set by subject matter experts.
To be eligible for the CRSP exam, candidates must be approved by BCRSP based on a combination of education and professional OHS experience. Pathway A requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus 4 years of OHS experience. Pathway B requires a diploma or certificate plus 5–7 years of OHS experience.
